Senior Developer / Solutions Architect (Hybrid)

Job Overview:  An Awesome opportunity has arisen for a Solutions Architect, who'll be key in continuing to drive our agenda to a more Service Oriented Architecture, help us leverage serverless technologies, and guide our teams as we expand our ad-tech product suit. This is a key role in our growth journey, needing a technically minded, passionate and critical thinking technologist.

How will YOU contribute to the Team? 

- Steer the platform architecture and its consistent application across functional areas, concerning Front-end and Back-end developments

- Design of common system components; work collaboratively with system developers to build best-practice componentry with focus on performance, stability and security

- Collaborate, coach and mentor Engineering team members, being a trusted consultant for design concerns and set the standards for coding practices

- Continuously review system performance and identification of optimisation opportunities

- Own software performance metrics (response times) and key metrics for ongoing improvement

- Collaborate closely with external security specialises to ensure system and data protection is fully compliant with developing needs

- Oversee third-party integrations in use, monitoring and drive consolidation to a single solution for each purpose

- Build business cases describing costs and benefits for change initiatives

The following skills and experience are vital for the types of work that you will be supervising:

- Proven experience in designing complex systems as a Senior Engineer (4+ years) including software architecture design and deployment

- A background and proven experience in programming with deep proficiency in one of the following languages: JavaScript, Ruby, Python, Go

- Experience in designing and developing APIs, microservices, web applications, mobile applications, real-time applications

- Solid understanding and high capabilities of databases, data integration & data query tools (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure)

- Strong communication and written skills, particularly around system documentation and descriptions

- Experience working with large teams, collaboration and negotiation skills and ability to describe benefits and be a champion for change

- Knowledge of and advocate for Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment and Software Engineering best practices

- Ability to adapt to new problems and learn quickly
