• Collaborate with the Product Owner and Development Team to clarify requirements and provide technical input to ensure the team’s backlog items align with the Definition of Ready (DoR).
• Partner with the Scrum Master and Development Team to develop and oversee the team’s development plan throughout iterations to achieve the team’s objectives.
• Engage in product concept design, high-level design, and technical feasibility analysis, including conducting Spikes and Proof of Concepts (POC).
• Capable of designing the architecture and producing high-level and detailed designs for assigned services, ensuring alignment with the overall Fortna Product architecture.
• Accountable for the software quality of the projects, including performing code reviews to ensure Features and User Stories adhere to the Definition of Done (DoD), such as coding conventions, unit testing, and non-functional requirements.
• Work alongside the Software Manager to define and implement best practices and tools for project execution and management.
• Provide mentorship and leadership to other developers on the team.
• Oversee the build process, release candidates, and system integration for the entire product, adhering to Fortna standards (DevOps responsibilities).
• Collaborate with the UX/UI team to develop and implement the system design for the UI tasks within the team.

Job Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in Software Development and Management.
• Proven experience working in an Agile team using Scrum, Kanban, or another Agile methodology.
• Strong skills in code quality management, including efficient code reviews, unit test coverage, coding practices, and CI/CD processes.
• Experience managing a cross-functional team, ensuring smooth collaboration, and demonstrating a strong focus on timely delivery of software features.
• In-depth knowledge of advanced Java programming, including networking, concurrency, thread safety, non-blocking IO, security, high-performance coding, and Java 8+.
• Expertise in design patterns and coding principles.
• Experience designing highly customizable, available, and scalable systems.
• Strong ability to generalize and abstract conceptual designs from specific requirements to a product-ready solution.
• Familiarity with Linux systems and the ability to manipulate them.
• Extensive understanding of Docker and Docker Swarm, including building, running, and deploying containerized applications. Proficient with Dockerfiles and Docker Compose syntax.
• Knowledge of K3S/K8S is a plus.
• Experience working in a scaled Agile framework with multiple cross-team dependencies is highly desirable.
