1. Sales Planning / Improvement:
- Prepare annual Strategic Sales Business Plan upon budget presentation and present it to Finance & the Senior Management team.
- Perform territory analysis / SWOT analysis to plan for sales penetration.
- Prepare sales strategy plans on an ad hoc basis when there is a direction to penetrate the new customer sector.
- To present pricing strategy proposal to superior.
- Propose products innovations based on current product shortcomings/feedback from customers or environmental requirements/opportunities.
- Present the Company’s products and solutions to potential key clients through direct communication in face-to-face meetings, telephone calls and emails
- Develop new business relationships and generate revenue for the Company to an agreed target that is set annually.
- Liaise closely with the operations team to coach them on the logistics enhancement and shipments improvements.
2. Leadership:
- Effectively delegate, coach and motivate team members to achieve their sales KPI/target based on the high-level plans.
- Lead the team to create opportunities to upsell between different accounts level.
- Managing and maintaining a pipeline and ensuring all sales administration of team members are documented.
- Ensure all sales activities comply with local legislative requirements.
- Maintain complete knowledge of self and team members on the marketplace and commercial environment relevant to the designated portfolio and suggest strategic plans to maximize potential growth.
- Constantly update and grow the team by exposing them to industry best practices, signing them up for relevant, beneficial courses/ conferences.
- Conduct internal team briefings/training to keep team members updated on relevant industry knowledge.
- Facilitates regular team meetings to discuss issues, share achievements, provide direction
- Conduct periodic performance chats with team members to identify and resolve performance gaps.
3. Existing client management:
- Maintain and serve existing customer
- Joint visit with team members at least once every quarter to maintain a good relationship with an existing customer.
- Step in to handle demanding customers if highlighted by team members.
4. Reports Generation & Analysis:
- Daily update/ reporting to superior on daily activities planned and carried out.
- Prepare weekly sales report
- Prepare monthly sales forecast report (forecasting up to 6 months in advance)
5. Moderate/heavy travelling within and out of the home country to carry out Sales activities
Perform other ad hoc jobs and responsibilities assigned by immediate superior.
- At least five (5) years relevant experience in the Sales field with small team supervisory capacity. Experience of at least two (2) years in chemical sales/ trading/ distribution is a plus point.
- Experience managing a Sales function and complete cycle of Sales activities from prospecting, selling, closing sales, planning for continuous improvement/ analysis, Customer Relationship Management.
- Track record of building, motivating and delivering results from the team effort.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office, especially on PowerPoint/presentation software.
- Has in-depth knowledge of managing overall sales activities.
- Has robust competitiveness analysis on sales data to plan for sales strategies.
- Knowledge of supply chain management/logistics.
- Has the ability to strategize and solve problems using a creative and innovative mindset.
- Possess an eye for opportunities – able to spot business opportunities.
- Possess strong leadership and organizational skills such as excellent communication, collaboration and motivation skills to lead his team.
