As a Procurement Manager specializing in Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient supply of essential raw materials.
Your responsibilities will be category management, risk mitigation, compliance management, and vendor relationship management, enhancing efficiency, reducing risks, and contributing to overall business success:
- Manage procurement budget, sourcing strategy, and purchasing activities
- Negotiate API and excipient POs & contracts with new and current suppliers while overlooking second sourcing plans to maintain a consistent supply of API and Excipients at a competitive cost and improved quality in line with IMP’s procurement strategy.
Directly report to Deputy General Director - Quality
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies to identify and qualify new vendors for raw materials.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts with vendors, ensuring competitive pricing, favorable terms, and clear service level agreements (SLAs).
- Manage supplier relationships and performance for optimal business operations performance
- Perform risk assessment on the supply chain, and do mitigation.
- Work closely with various departments and stakeholders to operate effectively and meet procurement needs.
- Monitor and analyze procurement data, vendor perform and identify improvement areas, and implement cost-saving measures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant pharma regulations, standards laws, and company policies.
- Manage and maintain procurement databases and systems, and implement supply chain management systems to enhance visibility, traceability, and data accuracy.
- Build strategic relationships with key suppliers at a senior level and lead processes to ensure value is driven from these relationships. Ensure global and regional considerations are accounted for in supplier relationships.
- Prepare and manage procurement budgets.
- Lead and mentor APIs & Excipients procurement team members to achieve organization objectives.
- Performs other related duties or assignments as directed.
QUALIFICATION/ KEY CAPABILITIES
Experience & Knowledge:
- University/Master's degree in Pharmacy or relating major.
- Must have experience in Pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- 8+ years in Procurement and Supply Chain (API, Excipient, Raw materials) with 4+ years in a manager role.
- In-depth understanding of APIs and Excipients in procurement.
- Good understanding on regulations and compliance standards in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Familiarity with incoterm2020 and international trade.
- Strategic Sourcing, Supplier & industry knowledge.
