- Engineer Evaluation: Oversee technical teams, monitor, assess, and provide feedback on subordinates' work to help them advance their careers.
- People management/leadership: Assist in resolving employee complaints or difficulties relating to work, and represent superiors to subordinates in organizational development initiatives.
- Planning a recruitment and training strategy: Establish a clear recruitment and training strategy in close coordination with management, considering the order forecast or potential project. This will help to determine the right tech stack to use, when, how many, and how to hire or train.
- Engineers' training and development: Take charge of your team members' development and work to foster their progress through regular engagement, skill-building exercises, and suitable assignments.
- Recruiting Engineers: Have the ability to interview engineers at any level.
- Assignment management:
- Throughout the whole project management process, collaborate with the development team, sales team, and project manager.
- Possess the ability to evaluate, comprehend, and assess the necessary solutions, the number of man-months, and the tech stack.
- Keep a close eye on every project scenario and adjust the task as necessary.
Requirements:
- More than 6 years of software development expertise, along with a track record of designing, creating, and delivering high-caliber solutions.
- More than 3 years of experience managing people and projects in engineering management roles.
- A flexible, goal-oriented mentality to handle diversity and change.
- Gaining knowledge of profit, loss, and balance sheet (PL/BS) is advantageous.
- Broad communication abilities with a variety of people, both inside and externally.
- Make adjustments to foster team culture, interpersonal connections, and engagement.
- Superb problem-solving abilities, particularly when handling urgent or escalated situations.
- Demonstrated capacity for mentoring and coaching.
- Strong critical thinking to consider relevant issues from several angles.
- Strong command of N1 or similar Japanese.
