We are seeking a Packaging Engineer to design and develop packaging solutions for high-value medical equipment, electronics, defense equipment, and other similar items. The role involves working with various raw materials, including pinewood timber, plywood, corrugation, foam, and hardware. The primary design tools used are SolidWorks (90%) or similar and AutoCAD (10%). The ideal candidate should have experience in packaging design, material selection, and structural integrity analysis to ensure product safety during transportation and storage.
What You'll Do:
- Design and develop customized packaging solutions for medical, electronics, and defense equipment using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Select appropriate packaging materials (pinewood timber, plywood, corrugation, foam, hardware) based on product specifications, safety standards, and cost-efficiency.
- Conduct structural analysis and testing to ensure durability and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, logistics, and procurement) to optimize packaging design.
- Prepare detailed 2D and 3D packaging drawings and specifications for production and customer approval.
- Ensure compliance with international packaging regulations and shipping standards. • Identify cost-saving opportunities in packaging design without compromising quality and protection.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing teams for prototype development and production implementation.
- Stay updated on new materials, trends, and technologies in the packaging industry.
- Detail using industry software programs in American Construction Methods in conjunction with CAD, especially Timber Houses and software's is a plus.
- Ensure customer queries are actioned and resolved appropriately in a timely manner to avoid construction delays.
- Be able to work in a team or independently.

Who You Are
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- Relevant work experience in in packaging design (3+ years), preferably for medical, electronics, or defense equipment, or practical work experience.
- Strong understanding of packaging materials and their properties (wood, plywood, foam, corrugation, hardware).
- Knowledge of international packaging regulations and shipping standards.
- Experience in cost analysis and optimization of packaging solutions.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Experience in ISO, ASTM, or ISTA packaging standards and Knowledge of sustainable and eco-friendly packaging solutions are a plus.
- Familiarity with supply chain and logistics requirements for packaging.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines are also important.
