Job Description

  • Legal Compliance: Ensure the company's operations adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines related to pharmaceutical manufacturing, distribution, sales, and marketing.
  • Contract Management: Review, draft, and negotiate various contracts, agreements, and partnerships with suppliers, distributors, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Intellectual Property (IP) Protection: Oversee the management and protection of the company's intellectual property assets, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
  • Regulatory Affairs: Collaborate with regulatory teams to ensure timely and compliant submissions of applications, licenses, permits, and approvals for pharmaceutical products.
  • Legal Risk Management: Identify legal risks, provide risk assessments, and develop strategies to mitigate potential legal issues.
  • Dispute Resolution: Manage and oversee legal disputes, litigation, and arbitration cases in collaboration with external legal counsel when necessary.
  • Compliance Programs: Develop and implement compliance programs and training initiatives to ensure employees are aware of and adhere to relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Government Relations: Collaborate with the Government Relations Manager to address legal and regulatory matters with government authorities and relevant stakeholders.
  • Corporate Governance: Ensure the company's compliance with corporate governance principles and best practices.
  • Due Diligence: Conduct legal due diligence on potential business partners, mergers, acquisitions, or other significant transactions.
  • Ethics and Code of Conduct: Promote a culture of ethics, integrity, and compliance throughout the organization.
  • Legal Research: Stay informed about changes in laws, regulations, and industry trends impacting the pharmaceutical sector in Vietnam.

Knowledge of Pharmaceutical Regulations:

  • In-depth understanding of Vietnam's pharmaceutical laws, regulations, and industry-specific guidelines.
  • Familiarity with international regulations and standards related to pharmaceutical manufacturing, distribution, and sales.

Compliance Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of compliance principles and practices, including anti-corruption laws, data privacy, and intellectual property rights.
  • Ability to develop and implement compliance programs to ensure the company's operations adhere to legal requirements.

Communication and Negotiation Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Vietnamese and English, as you may need to interact with international stakeholders.
  • Negotiation skills to handle legal contracts, agreements, and disputes effectively.

Team Management:

  • Leadership and team management skills, as you may oversee a team of legal professionals and collaborate with cross-functional teams within the company.

Problem-Solving and Analytical Abilities:

  • Strong problem-solving skills to address legal and compliance issues that may arise in the pharmaceutical business.
  • Analytical skills to interpret complex legal documents and provide strategic advice to the company.

Regulatory Affairs:

  • Familiarity with regulatory affairs and the process of obtaining licenses, permits, and approvals for pharmaceutical products.

Intellectual Property (IP) Knowledge:

  • Understanding of intellectual property laws to protect the company's patents, trademarks, and other IP assets.

Ethical Conduct:

  • High ethical standards and the ability to promote a culture of compliance within the organization.

Continuous Learning:

  • Stay updated with the latest changes in laws and regulations related to the pharmaceutical industry in Vietnam.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Law, or a related field. A Master's degree in Law or Business Administration could be advantageous.
  • Relevant work experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, and legal practice or compliance. Around 5-7 years of experience is often required for a Legal Manager position.
