• Collaborate with other engineers to design and implement server architecture
• Design and implement server-side components in support of gameplay features
• Architect systems for performance, stability, scalability, and error-free operation
• Coordinate with client engineers on gameplay simulation and network efficiency
• Design and deliver code that is robust, extensible, flexible and simple to use

Qualifications & Technical Skills:

• 3+ years of experience in backend development, with a strong focus on Game Server Architecture (multiplayer, real-time synchronization, or matchmaking systems).
• Strong experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), handling cloud-native development, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud infrastructure. Deep experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is highly preferred.
• Mastery of statically typed languages commonly used in game backends (e.g., Go, C#, C++, or Java) with a deep understanding of thread-safe, high-concurrency, and non-blocking programming.
• Proven ability to architect high-performance systems handling 1,000+ Queries Per Second (QPS) or high concurrent users (CCU) with sub-100ms latency.
• Strong command of database engineering, encompassing relational databases, NoSQL, and high-speed in-memory datastores (e.g., Redis, Memcached) for caching and state management.
• Experience managing data persistence, player profiles, and game states for high-traffic products (1M+ MAU).
• Solid understanding of network protocols relevant to gaming (e.g., TCP, UDP, WebSockets, gRPC) and API design (REST).
• Experience integrating security by design, including authentication/authorization (OAuth 2.0, JWT) and anti-cheat data validation / state verification.
• Deep knowledge of software design patterns (GoF) and clean architecture, with a rigorous habit of writing testable code (Unit/Integration tests).

Mindset & Soft Skills:

• A true passion for game development and playing games (especially RPGs).
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with Game Designers, Client/Frontend Engineers, and Producers.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to participate in all areas of game server engineering.

Bonus Points (Nice-to-have):

• Familiarity with specialized game server hosting/orchestration on cloud (e.g., Agones on Kubernetes).
• Experience with open-source game server frameworks (e.g., Nakama, Mirror, Photon) or game engines (Unity/Unreal).
