Overview: The Garment Quality Control Manager ensures that all apparel products meet defined quality standards, adhering to brand guidelines, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements.
This role collaborates with internal teams (production and head quarter quality department) and external partners (factories and suppliers) to maintain consistency and excellence across all garment lines.
Job Description:
- Quality Standards Enforcement: Develop, implement, and monitor quality control procedures for garments, ensuring compliance with company’s technical specifications, fit standards, and performance criteria (e.g., durability, comfort, and moisture-wicking properties).
- Inspection Oversight: Supervise and conduct in-line and final inspections of garments at manufacturing facilities, checking for defects in stitching, fabric quality, color accuracy, and construction.
- Monitor CFA operations at factories to ensure compliance with Company standards, regularly reviewing and evaluating CFA performance.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Monitor quality data, analyze trends, and generate reports to identify areas for improvement and address quality issues proactively to vendors. Submit weekly and monthly quality reports to Headquarters.
- Supplier Collaboration: Work closely with global suppliers to ensure raw materials (e.g., fabrics, trims) and finished products meet sustainability and quality benchmarks,
- Process Improvement: Identify and address quality issues, recommending corrective actions and process enhancements to reduce defects and improve production efficiency.
- Root Cause Analysis: Investigate customer complaints or quality issues to identify root causes and monitor corrective actions. Analyze quality risks and implement preventive measures to enhance overall production quality control process. Example: Metal detection process, Heat transfer process...
- Quality assessment: Conduct monthly quality assessments at factories to review and identify risks across the full QA process.
- Team Leadership: Manage a team of quality inspectors or coordinators, providing training on -specific protocols and fostering a culture of accountability.
Job Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in textile engineering, fashion technology, or a related field.
- Having 10+ years of experience in garment quality control same position, ideally within the sportswear or apparel industry.
- English: IELT 6.5+ (English skills including email and verbal conversation)
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabric, and production processes.
- Experience with quality management systems (pivot88) and tools like AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit).
- Ability to travel to manufacturing sites, potentially globally, to oversee production quality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented mindset.
