JOB DESCRIPTION – Process Design Engineer

• Investigate and evaluate the current mass production (MP) model’s production process to identify areas that require improvement when developing new products. This includes reviewing workflow efficiency, identifying bottlenecks, and analyzing potential quality or cost-related issues in order to propose practical enhancements.
• Design and develop the production process for new products, ensuring alignment with technical specifications, production capacity, and quality standards. Establish appropriate process flow, working steps, and layout to support efficient and stable operations during mass production.
• Create and maintain a detailed list of required equipment, tools, and machinery for the new production process. Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure proper selection, procurement, and readiness of equipment in accordance with project timelines.
• Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to proactively identify potential risks in the production process. Analyze possible failure points, assess their impact, and propose preventive measures or corrective actions to ensure smooth and stable production.
• Prepare and set up equipment for production, including installation, configuration, and trial operation. Monitor initial runs to confirm that machines and processes function as expected and meet production requirements.
• Establish inspection standards and quality control criteria for new products. Define inspection methods, frequency, and acceptance standards to ensure consistent product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
• Perform equipment validation to verify that machines and production processes meet required specifications and operational standards. Record validation results and support continuous improvement activities when necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related technical fields.
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar position, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Communication skills in English or Japanese, sufficient for daily work, reporting, and coordination with internal teams or related stakeholders.
• Background knowledge in Electrical or Mechanical engineering is required.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, especially in identifying production issues and proposing effective improvements.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and continuously improve in a dynamic production setting.
