  • Government Affairs Strategy: Develop and implement government affairs strategies aligned with the company's business objectives and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Policy Monitoring: Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and policies affecting the pharmaceutical industry in Vietnam, and analyze their potential impact on the company.
  • Advocacy and Lobbying: Advocate for the company's interests by engaging with government officials and stakeholders to influence policy decisions in favor of the company.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate with regulatory teams to ensure timely and compliant submissions of applications, licenses, permits, and approvals for pharmaceutical products.
  • Public Policy Communication: Communicate the company's positions on key policy issues to government officials, industry groups, and the public in a compelling and persuasive manner.
  • Crisis Management: Develop strategies to address and manage government-related crises effectively and protect the company's reputation.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including legal, regulatory, public relations, and marketing, to align government relations strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Political Analysis: Monitor and analyze political developments, policy changes, and public sentiment to anticipate potential challenges or opportunities for the company.
  • Government Reporting: Prepare regular reports on government affairs activities, updates on relevant policy developments, and their potential impact on the company.
  • Ethical Conduct: Ensure all government relations activities adhere to the highest ethical standards and comply with relevant laws and regulations.

Knowledge of Pharmaceutical Regulations:

  • In-depth understanding of Vietnam's pharmaceutical laws, regulations, and government policies related to the industry.
  • Familiarity with the local healthcare system and how it interacts with the pharmaceutical sector.

Government Networking:

  • Strong network and established relationships with key government officials, regulatory bodies, and industry associations in Vietnam.
  • Ability to navigate the government landscape and identify key decision-makers.

Advocacy and Lobbying:

  • Proven track record in advocating for the company's interests to government stakeholders and influencing policy decisions.
  • Experience in organizing advocacy campaigns and lobbying efforts.

Communication and Negotiation Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Vietnamese and English.
  • Effective negotiation skills to represent the company's interests in discussions with government officials.

Regulatory Affairs:

  • Knowledge of the regulatory approval process for pharmaceutical products and the ability to work with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance.

Compliance and Ethics:

  • Strong commitment to ethical conduct and compliance with all laws and regulations related to government interactions and lobbying activities.

Political Analysis:

  • Ability to analyze political developments and policy changes that may impact the pharmaceutical industry in Vietnam.
  • Forecasting potential regulatory changes and providing strategic advice to the company.

Crisis Management:

  • Capability to handle government-related crises effectively and develop communication strategies to address any negative impacts on the company's reputation.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborative mindset to work closely with internal teams, such as legal, regulatory, public relations, and marketing, to align government relations strategies with overall business objectives.

Cultural Awareness:

  • Sensitivity to cultural norms and protocols when interacting with government officials and stakeholders in Vietnam.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, International Relations, Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree or relevant certifications may be advantageous.
  • Previous experience in government relations, public affairs, or lobbying roles, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry. Around 5-7 years of experience is often required for a Government Relations Manager position.
