Overview
- Communications specialists help businesses by managing all internal and external communication of a company and represent the company to the outside world.
Responsibilities
Internal:
- Develop and implement a communication strategy that includes media outreach and social media content creation.
- Arrange and coordinate press conferences, and planned events.
- Manage internal communications (memos, newsletters etc.)
- Assist in communication of strategies or messages from senior leadership
- Work with key internal role-players to brainstorm content ideas, in line with the company’s strategy and in support of various brand initiatives.
- Support and evaluate results of communication campaigns with the team.
- Monitor daily media and identify external news opportunities and leverage external opportunities across all communication channels.
External:
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists and key external role-players.
- Liaise with media and handle requests for interviews, statements etc.
- Promote products and services through public relations initiatives.
- Perform “damage control” in cases of bad publicity.
- BSc/BA in public relations, communications, or relevant field
- At least 3 years of experience as a communication specialist
- Good English speaking & writing skill (TOEIC 750 or IELTS 6.0)
- Experience in copywriting and editing
- Solid understanding of project management principles
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Outstanding organizational and planning abilities
