Lead and direct Upper Production Department by planning, executing and controlling the factory production processes to achieve the company objectives within Quality, Delivery and Cost. The role is also responsible to coordinate cross-functionally to ensure best practice/ methods, manpower, materials and machines are in place when required. Finally the Production Manager is responsible to build and develop his teams and ensure appropriate morale and work attitude is evident and work within company safety regulations and Code of Conduct.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and monitor department budget:
- Prepare and propose department budget.
- Manage and monitor department budget.
- Proactively manage cross functional pre-production activities.
- Coordinate with Technical Department the readiness of the tooling and specifications required.
- Coordinate with Work Study Department for the best layout and availability of machines.
- Coordinate with Logistic Department and Quality Control the incoming of raw materials.
- Coordinate with Training and Support Department, ensuring manpower is trained and able to properly execute the functions.
- Ensure the Production Plan is achievable and optimized in order to best utilize the resources available, including manpower, machines and material.
- Manage production activities:
- Lead the execution of the upper production plan by managing the system and process including organizing resources in the areas of Cutting leather, cutting components, Preparation and Stitching areas.
- Ensure upper production performance, material usage and production output is based on the standard required and agreed lead time.
- Ensure the production process is in accordance with the standard operation procedure and according to the approved Reference sample.
- Utilize visual management for optimizing communication and cross functional communication.
- Manage EHS within the department:
- Ensure employees work safely by following EHS rules and standards.
- Ensure that employees use protective equipment (rubber gloves, masks, etc.) according to their work activities.
- Ensure that the factory site is according to the agreed standards.
- Lead and support EHS Supervisor on an actively implementation of EHS program.
- Monitor the waste from production process.
- Be a role model by providing a general safe work condition.
- Manage the department’s organization, in order to improve department’s performance.
- Manage work distribution within the organization and ensure organization charts and job descriptions are updated and properly socialized.
- Ensure the subordinate’s development to fit the competencies required.
- Manage the discipline of the employees.
- Ensure Company's Code of Conduct is applied in all areas and activities of the department.
- Appraise and review subordinate’s performance and provide individual feedback, in accordance with Company's APR System.
- Provide regular reports and updates to the Production Director.
