Job Description

  • Be responsible for developing, prospecting, drive leads and build relationship to generate sales of fillers/additives to new and existing key customers in compounding/masterbatch manufacturers.
  • To further strengthen a network of highly performing Sales Managers in the region, and work with the regional Business Director to deliver the strategy within an open, entrepreneurial and innovative culture.
  • Introduce company's solution oriented and added value to the customers by providing know-how to assists customers in qualifying additives/fillers to differentiate the performance.
  • Determine gaps in our current product portfolio and identifying new Principals that could bring value to the customers.
  • Providing leadership in the areas of country analysis, industry/marketing analysis, competitor benchmark, customer research and partnership strategy developments with the key Principals.
  • Serve as the industry/region expert that completely understand the market drivers which influence our core business.
  • Develop and implement sales growth plans across target segments, new account acquisitions and working closely with country sales managers to identify growth initiatives to maximize Sales & GM impact.
  • Coach and mentor the sales team (if any) to enhance their customer engagement ability and application solution philosophy.
  • Market research follow the Key Principal’s growth strategy, collaboration, and exchange of learnings and success across the Asia region.
  • Actively building, follow up and the support of the most important Key Business Opportunities guaranteeing a strong project pipeline that will deliver strategic growth; in collaboration with the local commercial team.
  • Conduct technical discussions and support local customer seminars in collaboration with the local teams. A strong formulations knowledge to propose on improvement to ensure quality and productivity of new and existing additives.
  • Strong knowledge in Compounding industry dynamics, identifying strategic priorities by each application and accordingly developing strategic plan in alignment with the key Principal’s growth expectation.
  • Build on and further develop the strong existing relationships with the technical experts of the suppliers in Asia. Motivate the importance of a solution oriented, trends-based expertise building, hence support from their technical/commercial team. 
  • Ensure all activities respect health, safety and the environment and meet company’s compliance and quality standards.
  • Report to: Sale Manager



  • Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry, Applied Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, polymer science/Chemistry/Material Science.
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in the sales of specialty chemicals to the Advanced Materials industry preferably in the converter and compounders segments.
  • Confident in leading technical discussions and be problem-solvers.
  • Strong communication skills, presentation skills, interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Possess strong convincing power and ability to maintain and strengthen relationships with customers.
  • Technical services professional with strong interest in sales can be considered.
  • Speaking Mandarin will be a plus point.

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Entrepreneurial individual with a positive can-do attitude, ambitious individual with a hands-on mentality.
  • Strong formulation knowledge in polymer industry is a MUST.
  • High-energy, creative self-starter with leadership skills and strong business acumen.
  • Must have a strong technical expertise in functional additives/fillers knowledge.
  • Must have strong inter-personal skills with the ability to develop strong relationship.
  • Show experience in understanding customer dynamics and decision process in the Compounding segment with system and solution approach.

Work Experience:

  • A good knowledge in technical development in chemical industry market, preferably in compounding formulations development. Besides having a solution-oriented attitude and background, the position requires a consultative, in-depth technical background and a solid proven track record with at least 5 years of experiences.
  • Candidates are international orientated, feeling comfortable in dealing with sales colleagues, customers R&D and marketing and suppliers around Asia.
  • Further requirements are excellent intercultural communication, planning and organizational skills. Qualities like ambition, initiative, discipline, market and result orientation, creativity and obviously teamwork are essential for this position.
